Okay so, I’m currently in the trenches of 10th-grade boards and honestly… I needed to vent. Since Feb 17th, I’ve only finished two papers. It’s actually so unhinged that I have to wait a whole month for this to finally be over, but whatever, we move.
Paper 1 was English Language, and I wasn’t even stressed. It was literally the easiest Language paper I’ve ever done. I was expecting the Council to do us dirty, but they actually came through with a short and sweet one.
When I got to the center, I thought my friends would be having a total mid-exam crisis, but I was so wrong. Literally no one was acting like it was a Board paper. Also, our exam hall is in an A/C basement, so I didn’t have to deal with any of those “sweaty classroom” horror stories. Absolute win.
I had to sign the attendance sheet and I’m 100% sure my signature looks nothing like what I did on my hall ticket two years ago. My handwriting has its own personality at this point.
They called us 2 hours before reading time (why??), so we just sat in the waiting area talking about literally everything except the paper.
Watching the guys try to form a line for the pocket check was a whole struggle. Then they ran a metal detector over us—like, why the drama? Anyway, finding my seat in the basement was a mission, but we made it.
I actually finished 15 minutes early and—miracle of miracles—my handwriting stayed aesthetic the whole time.
Paper 2 was English Literature and we had two and a half days for this. Obviously, I wasted the first half-day (I did Julius Caesar Act 3, but that’s it). I spent the next two days speed-running the rest of the portion twice. Since we’re only the second batch with this new portion, guessing the questions was actually light work. Everything I thought would come, showed up.
At this point I need help! Now I have this five-day gap for Hindi and it’s a total trap. It feels way more like a vacation than a study leave… I’m literally struggling to stay productive.
I lowkey pity the French students though. Imagine having 10 days to study for Math? That’s not a study leave, that’s a villain origin story.
